‘Tis the season… to shine!

By Allison Herdic, Industry Researcher –

The calendar year has so many “seasons” to anticipate beyond the four we all know and love. Of course, there’s baseball season, beach season, football season and many more. At Chartwell, however, we get particularly excited about Best Practices Awards season. And, it’s almost here again!

This year, the deadline for entries is Wednesday, June 14. Categories for 2017 include Billing and Payment, Communications, Customer Service, Outage Communications, Program Marketing and  People’s Choice – Video.

For utilities, this is an opportunity to submit your best effort in one (or more) of these categories to showcase to the industry your team’s innovativeness, creativity, efficiency and/or laudable results. Well-detailed entries (adhering to the 1,800 word maximum) are welcomed and encouraged to detail the history of your effort, program or service. Components of a mixed media campaign, including printed pieces, audio/video files, etc. may be submitted electronically along with the application.

Across the years, Chartwell has received hundreds of entries spanning numerous initiatives and featuring some of the industry’s most thoughtful customer-facing practices. Each year, it’s truly an honor to review a diverse storybook of how utilities are continually thinking outside of the box to improve the customers’ experience.

For Chartwell researchers, the challenging, but oh-so-rewarding time of judging will begin this summer, a season we enter with great anticipation. And, the icing on the cake will come once again at EMACS – The Customer Experience Conference, October 10-13 at the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, when three utilities for each category will be awarded with gold, silver and bronze recognition.

As April comes to a close, the time to start outlining your entry is now (if you haven’t done so already). And, while in the process, don’t hesitate to contact Chartwell’s Research Manager Suzanne Haggerty shaggerty@chartwellinc.com should you have any questions regarding the entry process. We look forward to receiving your entry!
