We’re at T-minus two weeks until the 2018 Chartwell’s Best Practices Awards deadline.
I predict that Wednesday, June 13 will be one of the busiest days of the year for me (deadline day always is) as I answer urgent awards-related phone calls and try to help utility staffers and their IT overlords negotiate company firewalls to transmit key campaign data and collateral for Chartwell’s judges. As I meander off to yoga at 7 p.m. EST, I’ll keep one eye on my cell phone for last-minute entreaties from the West Coast.
While the deadline is technically close of business on June 13, as long as I have your submission when I get to the office the next morning, it’s on time. That way, we avoid timezone heartburn.
The competition is already heating up. I have quite a few early entries, as well as several submissions from utilities that haven’t entered in several years. The People’s Choice – Video competition is once again proving to be a popular category, which is exciting because it’s also such a fun category. It recognizes outstanding creative achievement in short video marketing/communications efforts, such as TV spots or digital pre-roll. Chartwell judges select the Top 5 entries, and the recipients of the People’s Choice Award are chosen by EMACS attendees.

Three utilities for each category will be awarded with gold, silver and bronze recognition at EMACS – The Customer Experience Conference, Oct. 22-25 at the Tampa Marriott Waterside.
