Xcel Energy recently announced a bold clean energy vision, setting a course to reduce carbon emissions more than 80% by 2030 and provide 100% carbon‐free electricity by 2050. To empower customers who want to pursue their own clean energy goals, Xcel launched the online Renewable Advisor Tool to Colorado and Minnesota audiences in 2018. Visitors take a short online quiz to customize the renewable programs available so that they can make a confident choice from Xcel’s renewable energy options. Guiding customers to the best program for them removes uncertainty and reduces call and email volume, saving the utility money.
