Remember “movie day” in junior high and high school? When the teacher would wheel in the TV/VCR/DVD combo and you’d spend a glorious class period watching a Shakespeare production, historical documentary or science special?
Chartwell held its own movie day in July, when we spent a couple of hours choosing the five finalists in the People’s Choice – Video category of Chartwell’s Best Practices Awards.
We approached our morning mission not with popcorn and soda but Revolution Doughnuts (the lemon blueberry cake was especially delightful) and coffee. The research staff reviewed 37 entries from the People’s Choice – Video category, which recognizes outstanding creative achievement in short video marketing/communications efforts, such as TV spots or digital pre-roll.
The utilities competing for first place include:
- Georgia Power
- Hydro One
- Idaho Power
The selected videos range from dramatic to humorous, but all are educational and entertaining.
