Utilities are already taking the opportunity this week to indulge, and not just in the traditional poultry-and-carbohydrate binge. They’re using the Thanksgiving holiday as a chance to connect with customers on social media with safety tips, energy saving tips and retail opportunities.
Eversource, for example, aired a brief, warm video from the company’s annual Thanksgiving dinner in Norwalk, Conn., which was offered to more than 80 Keystone House clients who are in need.
Thank you Keystone House, for letting us to be part of your annual Thanksgiving dinner in Norwalk. Our volunteers helped prep & serve food to nearly 80 of Keystone House’s clients in the community who are in need. Meanwhile, Consumers Energy posted several tweets of mouth-watering recipes that could be made in a slow cooker, reminding customers that smaller appliances use less energy.
PG&E linked to a full holiday energy efficiency guide that contains simple tips and tricks for customers looking to reduce their energy consumption, as they host holiday get-togethers and parties.
Others, like Georgia Power, were already casting their gaze beyond Thanksgiving to the retail extravaganza that is Black Friday. Georgia Power’s link sent customers to its online marketplace to purchase a discounted thermostat.
Whatever your plans this Thursday, Chartwell wishes you and your loved ones a happy Thanksgiving!
