In 2016, Westar Energy revitalized the marketing of its tree-trimming program, ReliabiliTree, to create educated, engaged and satisfied customers. The utility wanted to overcome a perceived lack of communication and empathy regarding an emotional issue for many customers: the trimming of trees and vegetation on their property.
