Hawaiian Electric is rolling out advanced metering installation (AMI) to homes, condominiums, apartments and businesses on Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi Island, and in Maui County. To minimize its opt-out rate, Hawaiian Electric launched an extensive communications campaign emphasizing the benefits of AMI, which include the ability to see energy usage in 15-minute intervals and the potential to reduce energy use and save money.
