SCE Leverages Nextdoor for Wildfire Communications

Southern California Edison began using Nextdoor in late 2019 as part of its wildfire mitigation communication efforts. Since then, the platform has proven to be an effective tool for communicating with customers about public safety power shutoffs, which are a significant part of SCE’s wildfire mitigation work. Nextdoor is a hyperlocal social networking service launched in 2011. Within Nextdoor, each neighborhood has its own private website, accessible only to residents of that neighborhood.
