Electrification: How Hydro-Québec positioned itself in the e-mobility sector

Very early on, Hydro-Quebec saw e-mobility as an important source of revenue growth. As early as 2012, the Canadian utility was very active in deploying the country’s first public charging network. Over the years, Hydro-Quebec kept innovating ahead of the market, convincing authorities to finance the deployment through its rate base and launching its own IT solution for what it still is today one of the largest public networks. Going forward, the utility is preparing turnkey solutions for fleets and standards of interoperability.
