Leadership During Transformative Times: A Personal Journey

From post-pandemic uncertainty to global energy disruption, the challenges facing utilities today can seem overwhelming. Bold leadership will be needed to meet growing demands for advanced technologies, smart cities, electric mobility, renewable energy sources and sustainability. Our keynote speaker will share leadership lessons learned during her personal journey from intern to chief executive, including the importance of empathy, diversity, and collaboration to achieving success. Speaker:  Susan Gray, President/CEO, UNS Energy, Tucson Electric Power Susan began her TEP career 26 years ago as a student intern. She was hired as a system engineer in 1997 and advanced through several engineering and leadership roles before being named Vice President of Energy Delivery in 2015. She was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2018 and became President and Chief Operating Officer in 2020. She assumed the role of CEO in January, becoming the first woman to lead the company.
