2021 Outage Restoration Benchmarks

Findings from Chartwell’s 2021 Outage Restoration Industry Survey show changes in utilities’ outage restoration technology. For example, field crews are shifting away from mobile data terminals toward tablets and hands-free technology, and the use of drones has increased by nearly 100% since 2018. This report contains findings from the 2021 Outage Restoration Survey and explores trends in technology (both in the office and field) and field crew training.
