Southern Company leverages augmented reality to train the next generation of field workers

With 20% of field workers set to retire in the coming years, Southern Company is using augmented reality (AR) technology to prepare for the inevitable skills gap. A major component of this effort is facilitating the knowledge transfer from one generation of worker to the next by using mobile AR apps to teach the green workforce how to safely and confidently perform unfamiliar tasks in hazardous environments.
